- We digitize the Volvo Retail

VCRS is a company within the Volvo Group that develops intuitive digital solutions that are easy to use and make the Volvo retail flow both for users in the workshop, the car dealership and for the car customers who use the online services. Today, their solution is used by 10,000+ users and every year 240,000+ cars are sold with the support of their system that makes the entire ecosystem - of car manufacturers, companies that offers rental cars, financing, insurance, fuel and service agreements - connect digitally, for a seamless user experience.


Volvo Car Retail Solutions were in need of a new website that could be integrated with all their internal Volvo systems. We at the agency, helped them with their previous website and thanks to our long standing relationship we also received this new project. The customer's previous site was based on an older solution by Umbraco which restricted them from the further development desired. With a major rebranding in processes, they were in need of an updated solution which would better display all the services that they offer today. The design of the website needed to be renewed to match their new graphic profile and they also needed to create new content to be able to convey to their customers what value they provide through their services. 


The project offered exciting challenges, but since we previously worked together, the project progressed smoothly with a very good communication between both parties. An important aspect of the project was to facilitate and streamline the editor's work as well as their clients. That's why we chose a solution based on Umbraco 8 CMS (which is now upgraded to latest Umbraco version 10) and our starter kit Igloo. With Igloo we were able to build the desired special functions so we could deliver a unified platform where everything would be managed easily from their part. To ease the usability for their customers, we developed a solution for their customer where they could register into a login platform. The new design played an important role in the project and required a high performance solution to handle a greater amount of content, making Umbraco the perfect platform.

Tech Talk

The site was built with Umbraco's 8, and is recently upgraded to Umbraco version 10 which is Umbraco's latest big release, with this we were able to provide the customer with the best security and performance for their website. To make production time efficient, we used Umbraco Cloud as a server solution. With these solutions, the customer can be assured that the site is future-proofed as security updates and bug fixes are continually made automatically. The flexibility of building customized solutions comes from Igloo, our own developed site builder with standard features all websites need. This resulted in our developers being able to put a great deal of work and focus on the custom-made solutions that would be integrated with internal Volvo systems. As well as building a login platform where you can now access products, news and events. Altogether it resulted in a unique and stylish site, custom-made to our customer's needs with good performance.


The end result is a stylish and flexible solution that mirrors their new graphic profile and rebranding they have undergone. With its new site, Volvo Car Retail Solutions can now handle all their work and communications through a unified platform.

Umbraco has been the perfect solution for us thanks to the very easy-to-use CMS in combination with the "look and feel" it produces on the site. Making advanced adjustments have been surprisingly easy! This solution has enabled us to cut costs and lead times, since there is no need for intermediaries.
